Job summary

Carollo Engineers, a leading water-focused engineering firm, seeks a Construction Inspector to inspect water and wastewater facilities, review plans for constructability, and coordinate site inspections and outages. The role emphasizes meticulous record-keeping, safety compliance, and collaboration with contractors and clients.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, maintaining project files, and mentoring junior inspectors while ensuring quality and safety standards on diverse water

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and standards used in water/wastewater facilities.
• Experience with soil compaction, density testing, concrete handling and curing.
• Understanding of OSHA Construction Safety Orders.
• Ability to keep neat, accurate, and concise records.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong computer and internet skills.
• Completion of OSHA 10 hour safety course and other construction training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction contracts for water and wastewater facilities.
• Review plans and specs for constructability, notes, errors, omissions.
• Plan and coordinate site inspections and outages with client facilities.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain daily diary and project files.
• Maintain records of construction progress and as-built drawings.
• Prepare monthly estimates of completed construction quantities.
• Foster relationships with contractors, consultants, and owners.
• Oversee and mentor Junior Construction Inspectors.
