Job summary

Carollo Engineers in Philadelphia seeks a Construction Inspector to join our water-focused team. You will inspect construction contracts for water and wastewater facilities, review plans for constructability, and coordinate outages with client facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction specs, codes and standards for water/wastewater facilities.
• Experience with soil compaction, concrete, curing and sampling.
• Understanding OSHA Construction Safety Orders.
• Ability to keep neat, accurate records.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer and internet skills.
• 2-5 years of responsible field inspection experience.
• Completion of OSHA 10 hour safety course.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction contracts for water and wastewater facilities.
• Review plans for constructability and identify issues.
• Schedule and complete site inspections.
• Coordinate construction-related outages with client facilities.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain a daily diary.
• Maintain project files including a photo file.
• Keep records of construction progress and as-built drawings.
• Prepare monthly estimates of construction quantity.
• Maintain relationships with contractors, consultants and owner.
• Mentor and train Junior Construction Inspectors.
