Job summary

Primera is seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager to support the Chicago Department of Water’s CIP. Initially onsite for 90 days at Jardine Plant, with post-onboarding work-from-home flexibility.

The role requires 15-20 years of water/wastewater engineering and PM experience, PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain, PMP certification, and strong leadership skills for multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• PMP certification.
• 15-20 years of progressive Water/Wastewater facilities experience as an engineer and PM.
• Experience working on municipal projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills, client interaction, public speaking, and financial management; ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• PM for development and delivery of the capital improvement plan for major water system facilities.
• Provide technical oversight for project implementation.
• Coordinate and present to DWM and external groups.
• Lead conceptual project development and RFQ prep; participate in design consultant selection and scope/fee negotiations.
• Coordinate contract negotiations with design and CM consultants.
• Manage project teams and monitor consultant compliance with contracts.
• Monitor project production for schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Supervise technical professionals and other PMs.
• Monitor and report financial and completion status to client.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
