Water Engineering Technician – Project Controls in Midland, TX is a role for an organized professional to support budgets, schedules, invoices and project reporting for a West Texas infrastructure organization.

The position focuses on owning cost controls, budgets, vendor coordination and timely project reporting. A degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 5+ years’ experience is preferred, with strong Excel skills and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, Project Management or related field
• 5+ years supporting engineering, construction, utility, infrastructure or industrial projects
• Experience with budget tracking, document control, scheduling and vendor coordination
• Strong Excel skills and excellent organization and communication

Responsibilities

• Track project budgets, commitments, invoices and forecasts
• Maintain cost reports and monitor budget performance
• Coordinate vendor billing, purchase orders and payment status
• Maintain project schedules and milestones
• Track engineering, permitting, procurement and construction deliverables; support project meetings and action-item tracking
• Identify budget or schedule risks
• Maintain dashboards and project reporting tools
