Job summary

HDR in the United States is seeking a Water EIT to assist in designing water-focused systems under supervision. You will prepare design deliverables, write specifications, run modeling analyses, and coordinate with clients to deliver quality results.

The role emphasizes integration of digital tools, BIM workflows, and collaborative problem-solving within a supportive, employee-owned culture. A bachelor's degree in engineering and an EIT certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering fields required.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification required or in progress.
  • Interest or experience in water-focused system design and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Create planning level, preliminary, and detailed designs of water-focused systems under instruction from a Project Engineer or responsible charge
  • Prepare deliverables for water resources projects including specifications, analysis, modeling, and study reports; determine design methods and equipment sizing
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of deliverables and support construction inspection/administration activities
  • Participate in team environment and contribute to an inclusive employee-owned culture
  • Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Water EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Create planning level, preliminary, and detailed designs of water focused systems under instruction from a Project Engineer or person in responsible charge
  • Prepare deliverables for water or water resources focused systems, write specifications, analysis, modeling, and study-level reports, determine appropriate design methods, possible equipment sizing and selection, and work directly with our Clients to deliver an outstanding experience
  • Perform as part of a quality assurance team and conduct quality control reviews of completed deliverables
  • Support on construction inspection/administration activities
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in advancing digital delivery and AI-supported workflows in infrastructure projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering fields
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate
  • Interest or experience analyzing and designing water focused systems
  • Experience with production, simulation, and automation such as BIM systems, numerical modeling platforms, and other production tools
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
