Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Assistant Resource Specialist II to support water efficiency programs across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors.

You will collect, organize, and analyze datasets including water savings and program activity, and collaborate with member agencies and vendors on contractual arrangements as part of the Water Efficiency Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; or two years in the MWD Assistant Resource Specialist I classification.
• Work experience with resource conservation and efficiency (water, electricity, natural gas, or other similar resources).

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, organize, and maintain datasets on water savings, operational metrics, landscape area measurements, and program penetration across the service area.
• Technical & GIS Support: Perform GIS-based spatial analyses and write code or scripts to process and manipulate technical datasets.
• Reporting & Documentation: Review and analyze technical documents; draft reports, presentations, and formal correspondence for team and management review.
• Program & Project Assistance: Support day-to-day coordination and execution of various water efficiency programs for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional stakeholders.
• Agreement Administration: May administer agreements with guidance and oversight from senior team members.
• Administrative support: Maintain software licenses for the team.
