Job summary

The City of Mineral Wells is hiring a Water Distribution and Collections Operator I to maintain the city’s water and wastewater systems, operate light and heavy equipment, and respond to emergencies to ensure continuous service. You will work on hydrants, service lines, taps, and manholes with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires knowledge of hydraulics, reading maps/blueprints, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Texas Class C Driver’s License at hire; Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months.
• TCEQ Water Distribution and Collection II certification within one year.
• One year of water distribution or wastewater experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater lines, valves, hydrants and service connections.
• Respond to customer service requests and emergencies; turn water on/off as assigned.
• Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and safe operation.
• Maintain records of work performed and manage site safety and traffic control.
