Job summary

The Town of Firestone is seeking a Water Maintenance Technician II (or I) to operate, inspect, maintain, and repair municipal water distribution infrastructure. The role requires technical proficiency and works under the Water Foreman, with opportunities for promotion from Technician I.

Responsibilities include meter work, leak repairs, hydrant flushing, valve exercising, data entry, and safety procedures. On-call rotation and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of municipal water maintenance experience required.
• Promotion to Technician II requires two years as Technician I or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly water shut-offs and meter maintenance.
• Conduct system pressure checks; locate and repair leaks.
• Fire hydrant flushing and valve exercising programs; related repairs.
• Perform utility locates for water mains and infrastructure.
• Enter work orders and update asset management systems.
• Respond to customer inquiries with professionalism.
