Job summary

The City of Antioch is seeking a Water Distribution Operator I/II to maintain and repair the water distribution system and non-potable systems. The role supports safe water delivery to residents and businesses, operates heavy equipment, and handles system shutdowns for contract work and emergencies.

Entry to journey-level positions require knowledge of water distribution operations, safety practices, and ability to read plans and maps.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of water distribution operations and safety.
• Ability to interpret plans, maps, specs and manuals.
• Subject to after-hours emergency calls and variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water distribution and non-potable systems.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and tools.
• Coordinate system shutdowns for contract work and emergencies.
• Respond to public inquiries and provide timely information.
• Train and direct others as needed.
