Job summary

Denver Water is seeking a laboring and maintenance worker for the Water Distribution Section. Under direct supervision, you will perform laboring duties related to the operation and maintenance of water distribution assets, and keep tools, truck, and worksite clean.

This safety-sensitive role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Colorado Class R license (and a Class B CDL within 12 months of hire for Water Distribution), with potential on-call, shift, weekend, and overtime work in

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
No related work experience is required.
Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class 'R' Colorado driver’s license.
Must have a satisfactory driving record.
A valid Class 'B' Colorado Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of hire, in the Water Distribution Section.
CDL required for Construction & Maintenance Group.

Responsibilities

Place and connect pipe, hydrants, valves and valve boxes.
Operate equipment such as pavement breakers, compressors, jackhammers, chain saws, tampers, and related equipment; operate trucks and other equipment; place barricades.
Assist in maintenance of buildings, equipment, drains, sewers, and similar facilities; keep tools and work area clean.
Use tools and resources including electronic pipe locator, measuring wheel, maps, and GIS to locate water mains, conduits, and service lines.
Carry out the organization's Safety program through scheduled safety meetings.
May be required to perform on-call duty, work shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime; be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
