City of Minneapolis is hiring for a laborer to support the Public Works Department in maintaining the water distribution system. The role involves learning to operate trucks and a range of equipment, performing manual tasks, and assisting with emergency repairs and inspections.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and will pursue a Minnesota Water Supply System Operator certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Performs manual and semi-skilled work in maintenance of the Water Distribution System.
• Operates crew trucks and hand, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools as assigned.
• Must have valid driver’s license and pursue State DWS Operator certification within 12 months.

Responsabilités

• Learn about the City’s water distribution system and related operation, maintenance, repair and disinfection tasks.
• Learn to use water distribution technology tools such as ARC GIS and SonoPhone.
• Assist with locating buried water infrastructure per state requirements and troubleshoot water service concerns.
