The City of Minneapolis is seeking a Public Works Service Worker I to perform manual and skilled labor in support of Public Works construction and maintenance activities. This on-site role involves driving trucks and equipment and adhering to safety standards.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year of manual labor experience, and a valid Class B CDL with no air brake restrictions (tanker endorsement may be required on some assignments).

Formación

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience performing manual labor in a similar environment.
• Class B Driver's License with no air brake restrictions; Tanker Endorsement may be required for some assignments.
• Applicants must present a current CDL with no air brake restrictions at test and hire.

Responsabilidades

• Perform removal, replacement or placement of infrastructure and related materials.
• Load, unload and secure materials from trucks using manual methods or loading equipment.
• Drive and operate equipment and vehicles including concrete-related tasks.
• Inspect and perform repairs on sanitary and storm infrastructure; clean as needed.
• Assist with street maintenance, snow removal, mowing and brush trimming.
• Install, maintain and inspect traffic signs, markings and parking meter supports.
• Set up barricades for parades, detours, and maintenance operations.
• Repair guardrails, bridges and machinery and operate heavy power tools as needed.
• Assist with excavation and placement of infrastructure at or below grade; handle waste collection.
• Drive routes for garbage and recycling; sort materials for drop-off sites.
