Job summary

City of Palm Bay is seeking a Water Distribution Supervisor to oversee the technical installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s water distribution infrastructure. The role includes planning, organizing, supervising and reviewing work of skilled staff, especially during emergencies.

The ideal candidate has several years in water distribution plus supervisory experience, a Florida driver’s license, and a preference for an associate degree in water tech.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in water distribution system operation and maintenance.
• Associate degree in water technology or related field is preferred.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a foreman or higher capacity for a water distribution system is required.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns and directs activities of the City’s water distribution system operations.
• Develops policies, goals, procedures and standards and ensures adherence.
• Leads staff by communicating goals and encouraging innovation through reciprocal practices.
• Manages personnel records, recruitment, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.
• Maintains maintenance schedules for department equipment and oversees repair work.
• Researches equipment and supply prices and prepares purchase specifications.
• Prepares reports and budgets, and projects personnel and cost estimates.
• Operates CMMS and GIS to manage workflows and data collection.
