Job summary

City of Marysville, WA is seeking a supervisor for the Water Utility Division to plan, organize, and direct day-to-day water distribution operations and maintenance. The role requires applying professional knowledge to ensure reliable service and compliance with regulations while coordinating with other public works divisions.

The incumbent will supervise staff, assist in budget development, and participate in grant prep and reporting.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience in water distribution operations and SCADA/Telemetry.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering technology, construction management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise water distribution system operations and maintenance.
• Supervise division staff, assign tasks, train, evaluate performance, and participate in hiring.
• Assist with division budget preparation and forecast staffing and equipment needs.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and agencies; prepare reports and grant applications.
• Oversee routine and emergency maintenance, review design plans for code compliance.
• Develop short- and long-range plans; implement new policies and procedures.
• Coordinate bidding and procurement; follow local/state procedures.
• Foster cooperative relationships with city departments and external agencies.
• May serve as certified operator in responsible charge (WDM4) as defined by WA regulations.
