Job summary

The Washington City Public Works Water Department seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead field crews in the construction, maintenance and repair of water distribution systems, including mains, hydrants, meters and pump stations.

The role requires an IV Water System Operator certification and extensive experience in water infrastructure, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and coordination with the public and other city divisions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus level IV Water Distribution Operator Certification.
• Eight (8) years of experience in construction, maintenance or repair of water distribution systems.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Field supervision as project foreman; assign crews; oversee quality and timely completion.
• Supervise department personnel; enforce policies; advise on retention, advancement, discipline, termination.
