City of El Mirage seeks an experienced Utilities Operator Lead to oversee water production, wastewater collection, and distribution systems. You will lead utility crews, coordinate projects, and ensure safe, reliable operations with contractors and vendors.

Responsibilities include supervising field staff, monitoring SCADA, performing QA on work, and maintaining records. Certifications in ADEQ and a CDL are required; a strong emphasis on safety, training, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4 years of wastewater collections/treatment or water production/distribution system experience; or an equivalent combination.
• ADEQ Water Distribution or Treatment Grade 3 certification; ADEQ Wastewater Collection Grade 2 certification; or equivalent.
• Arizona Class A CDL with tanker endorsement at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance for water/wastewater systems.
• Monitors SCADA and maintains optimal treatment processes.
• Reads and interprets technical manuals and instructions.
• Trains lower-level staff in work processes and methods.
• Inspects, repairs, calibrates equipment, and coordinates contractor schedules.
• Provides customer service and maintains logs/records.
