Job summary

The Gila River Indian Community is seeking an Utility Service Crew Leader in Sacaton, AZ to supervise a small crew responsible for water distribution system installation, maintenance and repair. You will operate a backhoe and ensure timely completion of work orders with safety as a priority.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in utility work with heavy equipment operator and supervisory experience, and tribal/permitted driving credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in utility maintenance.
• Experience as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor.
• Arizona CDL and tribal driving permit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and supervise crews performing installation, relocation and repair of water mains and hydrants.
• Oversee construction of water main extensions and inspect distribution systems.
• Operate backhoe and related equipment and prepare work orders and material requisitions.
• Train and coordinate Utility Service Technician I/II and maintain records.
