Job summary

Kleinfelder in the United States is seeking a Water Design Engineer to design, implement, and manage decentralized water and wastewater systems for commercial and industrial clients.

You will bring regulatory knowledge and client-focused solutions, overseeing design, installation, site assessments, hydraulic modeling, and permitting, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and delivering cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering is required.
• 3-5 years' experience in Project Management of water/wastewater systems.
• 6-10 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment system design.
• Experience in water/wastewater engineering or management, with emphasis on decentralized systems.
• Must have valid OH Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and installation of decentralized/on-site water/wastewater treatment systems tailored to commercial applications.
• Oversees site assessments, feasibility studies, and hydraulic modeling to determine optimal system configurations.
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and proposals for wastewater infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare environmental documentation, technical reports, and permit applications.
• Lead or support construction oversight and commissioning of treatment systems.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in decentralized water/wastewater management.
