Job summary

Kleinfelder Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the Kansas City, MO office. This full‑time role involves working with a multidisciplinary team on civil, municipal, and environmental projects.

A Professional Engineer license in MO or KS or EIT with the ability to obtain a P.E. within a year is preferred. Responsibilities include business development, client coordination, preparing technical reports, and developing plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater treatment and drinking water treatment design and construction.
• Missouri or Kansas P.E. license or EIT certification with ability to obtain P.E. license within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in business development, including initiation of client contacts and proposals.
• Attend board or council meetings as needed for client interaction.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for projects.
• Collaborate with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during construction.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a full‑time Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO office. Our team works with communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with Engineers, CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
