Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO office. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team on civil, municipal, and environmental projects and collaborating with staff across engineering and field roles.

The successful candidate will have 5–10+ years in environmental engineering design, with experience in wastewater and drinking water design and construction. P.E. license in MO or KS or EIT with intent to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 5–10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater and drinking water design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Business Development, including initiating client contacts and preparing proposals.
• Attend board or council meetings as part of client contact.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for projects.
• Collaborate with Construction Observers/Technicians during construction.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a full-time Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO office. Our team works with communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with Engineers, CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in Business Development, including initiation of client contacts and preparation of project proposals.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater treatment and drinking water treatment design and construction.
• Missouri or Kansas P.E. license or EIT certification with ability to obtain P.E. license within 1 year preferred.
