Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Data Steward to define how data is captured, structured, governed, and reused across Water projects. This leadership role coordinates SME experts and technical authorities to enable consistent data practices for reliable analytics and AI use.

Embedded in the Water Business Group, the role focuses on enabling project delivery and enterprise data reuse, not IT or pure compliance, and reports to the Water Technology Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.
• Ten years of strategic leadership experience focused on growing, developing and leading teams in change management and working with data.
• Fifteen years of overall experience delivering data-centric solutions.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SME expertise across the Water Business Group to define technical standards and align with Water data practices.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions to support structured data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Use your technical network to build alignment and consensus around data processes, priority, and usage.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, quality, format, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets and manage storage and lifecycle considerations.
• Lead data fluency initiatives across the Water Business Group and coordinate with leadership.
• Align data workflows and initiatives with Water BG Strategy with Technology Director.
• Drive change management to adopt data standards, practices, and tools across Water BG.
• Communicate and collaborate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Teams, and Data Operations staff.
