Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Water Data Steward to define how data is captured, structured, governed and reused across Water disciplines. This leadership role coordinates SME experts and technical authorities to enable consistent data practices across projects and time.

Reporting to the Water Technology Director, you will drive adoption of data standards, collaborate with data science teams, and ensure data definitions support analytics, automation and AI at HDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in data-centric leadership in the Water engineering industry.
• Experience growing teams, change management, and data governance.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts for leadership and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate SME expertise across Water BG to define technical standards.
• Develop business-aligned data definitions supporting models, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Build consensus on data processes, priority, and usage with the network.
• Promote responsible data use, access, quality, and data lifecycle practices.
• Govern externally sourced datasets and ensure storage/inventory awareness.
• Advance data fluency across the Water BG and align workflows with strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science, and Operations teams.
• Ensure Water BG tool selections align with data strategy.
