Job summary

BELFOR in New Orleans seeks an on-site Water Damage Technician to support mitigation efforts, pump and extract water, and remove mold under supervision. The role involves using a variety of specialized equipment and following safety protocols to protect clients' properties.

Responsibilities include following MSDS guidelines, inspecting and maintaining vehicles, building containment, operating drying systems, and performing debris removal while remaining flexible for night/weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with water pumping and extraction operations.
• Knowledge of mold remediation protocols.
• Able to move and reset contents safely.
• Setting and operating drying equipment.
• Apply antimicrobials as appropriate.
• Perform vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
• Maintain clean, serviceable vehicles and equipment.
• Dispose of debris properly.
• Capable of working with time constraints.
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to receive instructions from team leader.
• Know and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance.
• Demonstrate mastery of the BELFOR damage process.
• Under supervision, use scraper, extraction equipment, and monitoring meters.
• Build containment systems using appropriate methods.
• Use cleaning and disinfecting solutions to remove debris.
• Lift and handle materials safely and protect client belongings.
• Install drying and containment systems as required.
• Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard property.
• Demonstrate knowledge of customer service principles.
• Work under time constraints and may travel at night/weekends.
• Attend required security and safety trainings.
