Job summary

The City of Glendale's Water Services Department seeks a Water Control Room Operator to monitor and adjust water and wastewater treatment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and uninterrupted service to Glendale’s residents.

The role requires interpreting alarms, operating pumps and telemetry, and coordinating with field crews. Must have two years of experience and an ADEQ Grade 2 certificate, with Grade 3 within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Two years of progressively responsible experience in operation of water/wastewater systems or related area.
• Must possess an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant System Operator or Water Distribution certificate at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Plan, balance and order water production to meet consumption needs.
• Recommends and performs corrections to distribution, storage, and collection systems.
• Acknowledges and interprets critical alarms in the control room on a 24-hour basis.
• Regulates use and operation of zone split pressure stations.
• Regulates use of sewage lift stations.
• Prepares report analysis of production and system demand usage.
