Job summary

Havasu Landing Resort & Casino is seeking a Water and Sewer Operator/Trainee 1 to provide safe drinking water to the Chemehuevi Community under supervision. Primary duties include meter reading, daily readings, and maintaining water and sewer systems with on-call availability.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and Grade I Operator Certification. This role requires travel, evening/weekend attendance, and the ability to lift 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license with good driving record.
• Possess or able to possess Grade I Operator Certification.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to attend evening/weekend meetings.
• Ability to be on call 24 hours.
• Able to lift 75 pounds.
• Have basic math skills.
• Knowledge and ability to assist in all operations of water and sewer systems.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Submit to pre-employment drug testing and comply with Drug Free Workplace Policy.

Responsibilities

• Read meters on a monthly basis to determine water usage for billing.
• Take daily and weekly readings as required by department supervisor and EPA guidelines.
• Develop list of parts and equipment needed to keep all water and sewer systems in proper working order at all times.
• Available for emergency situations 24 hours a day.
• Maintain sewer pumps, water pumps, at lift stations and all distribution lines on a daily basis.
• Other preventive maintenance and operation of water and sewer systems and duties assigned by the department supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

WATER AND SEWER OPERATOR/TRAINEE 1

STATUS : Permanent/Full time/Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT : Water

REPORTS TO : Water Department Manager

MINIMUM SALARY : $16.25 - $ 17.00 D.O.E.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor, the Water and Sewer Operator performs a variety of semi-skilled and technical work to provide safe drinking water to the Chemehuevi Community.
