Job summary

Havasu Landing Resort & Casino is seeking a Water & Sewer Operator/Trainee 2 to provide safe drinking water for the Chemehuevi Community under supervision. The role involves meter readings, system maintenance, and on-call emergency coverage, with salary ranging $16.25–$17.00/hr DOE.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, reporting to the Water Department Manager. Candidate must have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with willingness to travel

WATER & SEWER OPERATOR/TRAINEE 2

Department: Water
Status: Permanent / Full time / Non-exempt
Report to: Water Department Manager
Salary: $ 16.25 -$17.00/hr DOE

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor, the Water and Sewer Operator performs a variety of semi-skilled and technical work to provide safe drinking water to the Chemehuevi Community.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read meters on a monthly basis to determine waterusage for billing.
• Take daily and weekly readings as required bydepartment supervisor and EPA guidelines.
• Develop list of parts and equipment needed to keep allwater and sewer systems in proper working order at alltimes.
• Available for emergency situations 24 hours a day.
• Maintain sewer pumps, water pumps, at lift stations and all distribution lines on a daily basis.
• Other preventive maintenance and operation of water and sewer systems and duties assigned by the Department Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's license with good driving record
• Possess or able to possess Grade I Operator Certification
• Ability to travel
• Ability to attend evening/weekends meetings
• Ability to be on call 24 hours
• Able to lift 75 pounds
• Have basic math skills
• Knowledge and ability to assist in all operations of water and sewer systmes
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
• Submit to pre-employment drug testing and comply with Drug Free Workplace Policy
