Job description

Vaer Watches is an independent American watch company founded in Venice, California, with a focus on durable, design-driven watches built for everyday use and the outdoors.

Founded in 2016, Vaer has grown into one of the largest independent watch assemblers in the United States, producing a wide range of quartz, solar, automatic, and GMT watches with an emphasis on craftsmanship, water resistance, and long-term reliability.

Today, Vaer serves tens of thousands of customers across the country through its direct-to-consumer business and Venice Beach showroom, while continuing to expand its U.S. assembly operations and retail presence.

About the Role

We're hiring Watch Assembly Technician to join our production team — someone who's precise, organized, and takes real pride in getting the small stuff right.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble VAER watches across a range of movement types: quartz, solar quartz, meca-quartz, and automatic
  • Manage bench-level inventory across dozens of small components — know what you have, what's running low, and what's gone into which batch
  • Inspect incoming components for defects and flag QC issues before they hit assembly
  • Run quality control on finished watches: appearance, hand alignment, final wipe down
  • Keep your workstation and production logs clean and accurate
  • Work with our quality team to troubleshoot recurring component or assembly issues
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to pick up new processes quickly
  • Real attention to detail — you can track dozens of small part types without losing count or mixing batches
  • A hands-on, get-it-done attitude and willingness to work closely with the team
  • A genuine interest in watches and craftsmanship
Required Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to pick up new processes quickly
  • Ability to track dozens of small part types without losing count or mixing batches
  • Willingness to work closely with the team
  • Genuine interest in watches and craftsmanship
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in watch assembly, casing, or similar precision mechanical work
  • Formal horology training (WOSTEP or equivalent)
Pay range and compensation package
  • $50,000–$100,000/year depending on experience and output
  • Direct input into how we build and QC our watches, not just execution of someone else's process
  • Room to grow as we scale production
  • Employee discount on VAER watches
