Job summary

The City of Gresham is seeking a qualified Public Utility Worker 2 in the Wastewater Division to join a dynamic public works team. This full-time role uses heavy equipment, CCTV cameras, and trenching tools to maintain over 300 miles of sewer lines within city limits.

The successful candidate will perform line cleaning, inspections, and construction repairs while adhering to safety protocols, responding to spills, and coordinating with the public and crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 12 months of hire.
• OSHA Confined Space certification within 12 months of hire.
• CDL Class A with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsements within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Sewer line cleaning including mainlines, laterals and manholes with data input into asset management system.
• CCTV inspections of wastewater lines and manholes; test and confirm connections and flow direction.
• Perform skilled construction, repair and maintenance of wastewater facilities using heavy equipment.
• Locate mains and laterals using GIS, 811 program data and TV reports.
• Respond to spills or illicit discharges that affect public health and safety.
• Work outdoors in varied conditions, operate hand and power tools and maintain safety.
