Job summary

Actalent in Tacoma, WA, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Technician to safely treat bulk wastewater and maintain detailed records. The role requires following procedures, working independently after training, and operating a forklift as part of daily tasks in an outdoor plant environment.

Candidates should be comfortable outdoors in all weather, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and wear required PPE. The standard 2nd shift is 3:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records in a high‑compliance environment.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks in an industrial or environmental services setting.
• Prior experience working outdoors during all seasons and in varying climate conditions.
• Prior experience operating a forklift safely and effectively.
• Willingness and ability to wear hazardous waste protection gear.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability for second shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Need to be clean shaven daily to ensure proper respirator mask fit.

Responsibilities

• Treat wastewater in accordance with established environmental policies, practices, and procedures.
• Perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records in a high‑compliance environment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure safe and efficient operation of wastewater treatment processes.
• Work independently after completing training, managing daily tasks with minimal supervision.
• Operate a forklift to move and handle materials safely as needed.
• Load, unload, and handle materials in an outdoor setting while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Read labels and documentation with sufficient visual acuity to ensure correct handling and treatment of materials.
• Collaborate with environmental technicians to support safe, compliant plant operations.
