This role focuses on maintaining waste treatment operations, handling hazardous materials, and supporting wastewater pretreatment on the 2nd shift in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, knowledge of regulatory safety standards, and the ability to work with chemicals and heavy machinery in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess working knowledge of waste treatment operations, processes, equipment, machinery and terminology.
• Familiar with regulations relating to chemical safety and waste treatment.
• Plumbing and pump repair skills.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work in hazardous chemical, fumes and odors environment.
• Able to pass a physical and wear a full-face respirator.
• Ability to stand throughout shift.
• Good communication skills, reading and writing abilities.
• Flexible, organized and able to prioritize work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and interface with co-workers and supervisors.
• 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Order, receive, handle and store chemicals for cleaning, circuit imaging, and plating printed circuit boards.
• Perform chemical additions to plating and imaging process tanks.
• Keep accurate records of daily activities.
• Strictly follow safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining the standards of quality effluent as prescribed by MIWP.
• Operate the facility wastewater pretreatment system.
• Responsible for chemical inventory for the facility.
• Control pH and heavy metal content as required by the MIWP permit.
• Properly label and store waste per OSHA and EPA.
