Job summary

The City of Galveston is seeking a dedicated Water/Wastewater Plant Operator to operate and maintain the city’s wastewater treatment plant and lift stations on site in Galveston, TX.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent, two years of wastewater operations experience, and a valid Texas Wastewater Operator license. CDL may be required; safety and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in wastewater plant operations.
• Must have a Wastewater Treatment license through TCEQ (A/B/C/D).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment and lift stations.
• Read meters and record readings; interpret data for plant operations.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance; log results.
• Prepare work orders for maintenance and repair services.
• Calibrate instruments and ensure regulatory compliance.
