Job summary

Colusa Indian Community Council in Colusa, CA seeks a Wastewater Treatment Operator to manage daily operation and maintenance of the Tribe’s wastewater systems. Under general supervision, you will monitor processes, perform samplings, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include operating treatment facilities, maintaining records, and coordinating with the Director of Public Works. Candidate should have a high school diploma and a CA Grade I wastewater operator certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of operational experience in a water treatment facility.
• CA State Water Resources Control Board - Wastewater Operator Certification (Grade I) is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment, collection and disposal facilities.
• Develop understanding of plating process and waste generated.
• Understand waste sources and chemicals in the treatment operation.
• Maintain continual analysis and control of influent and effluent for regulatory compliance.
• Record and file wastewater treatment system operations and functions.
• Inform supervisors of unsafe practices or equipment malfunctions.
