Job summary

APEL Extrusions, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain our wastewater system in compliance with environmental and safety standards. The role requires reading meters, analyzing water quality, and maintaining test records.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of experience, and English literacy; a college degree in chemistry is preferred. Training occurs during the daytime for a few weeks on the day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment or a wastewater lab.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and ensure proper operation of waste equipment.
• Monitor and analyze water quality.
• Read meters, gauges, and instruments needed to monitor, meter, and regulate waste and chemical equipment.
• Collect samples and perform on-site analysis.
• Calculate and log results from laboratory data and maintain test records to prepare federal and state wastewater treatment reports.
• Manage chemical treatment processes and maintain chemical inventories.
• Maintain records for wastewater systems and chemical treatments and report failures or operating inefficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
