Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. seeks a wastewater operator to perform mid-to-high level technical work in treatment facilities.

You will operate, monitor, and maintain treatment processes, collect samples, perform lab tests, and respond to process anomalies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires a High School diploma and an ADEQ Grade 2 Wastewater license for Arizona, with willingness to work rotating shifts and possibly CDL considerations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pumps, mechanical equipment, instrumentation and basic laboratory procedures.
• Regulatory compliance requirements and safe operating procedures.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays and emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
• Monitor pumps, motors, blowers, valves, clarifiers, aerators and related systems.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform laboratory tests.
• Maintain accurate logs and compliance records.
• Respond to alarms, process upsets and equipment failures.
