Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Six months experience in a fresh pork processing facility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask across shifts and weekends.
• Ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Starting, stopping, and regulating electric motors, pumps, bar screens, grinders, and related equipment.
• Monitor and operate lagoon and biogas equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication and belt changes.
• Read meters and gauges; maintain a shift log.
• Operate systems manually or remotely to regulate wastewater treatment.
• Respond to emergency calls; standby on weekends/holidays.
• Make process control adjustments to keep effluent compliant.
• Oversee DAF system for optimal performance.
• Regulate polymer dosing for solids removal; mix batches as needed.
• Initiate repairs with maintenance personnel.
• Dump hopper to collect removed material.
• Transfer sludge between tanks for rendering.
• Monitor wastewater levels; adjust flow as needed.
• Check non-grease bearing wet well for proper operation.
