Job summary

City of Cedarburg (WI) seeks a skilled operator for the Cedarburg Water Recycling Center and collection system. You will manage valves, pumps, screens, and chemical feeds while collecting samples and performing routine lab tests to monitor plant performance.

You will also conduct preventative maintenance, operate equipment, and ensure safety protocols. A CDL tanker endorsement and a Wisconsin operator license are required or must be obtained within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2- or 4-year degree in water science related field or equivalent training/experience desirable.
• Wisconsin Wastewater Operator's License with required subclasses is required or obtainable.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required.
• CDL with tanker (N) endorsement required or obtainable within one year.
• Ability to respond to plant emergencies or lift station alarms within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Operate valves, pumps, chemical feed, screens and grit removal equipment.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform routine laboratory testing; maintain records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and on distribution/collection systems.
• Clean wet wells and operate pumps/valves to control flow and treatment processes; monitor gauges and control panels.
