Job summary

Tenneco, a global manufacturing and distribution leader, seeks a Wastewater Treatment Specialist to support safe and compliant operation of the plant’s wastewater systems at our Napoleon facility. You will work with operations, maintenance, and EHS to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes testing, data collection, reporting, and effective problem-solving to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal plant performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Associates in environmental science, chemistry, engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in wastewater treatment and environmental compliance required.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial plant environment preferred.
• Familiarity with permits, reporting and inspections preferred.
• Strong data collection, logging, and document management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation and monitoring of wastewater treatment systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant performance.
• Serve as plant specialist for wastewater treatment processes, testing, reporting, and process support.
• Monitor equipment, chemical usage, flow, sampling, and system performance.
• Collect, document, and maintain logs, records, inspections, and compliance reports.
• Perform sampling, testing, and reporting per procedures, permits, and standards.
• Identify issues, compliance concerns, or equipment problems and support timely action.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and EHS to troubleshoot issues and sustain performance.
• Coordinate or support preventive maintenance of wastewater equipment and related systems.
• Assist with environmental inspections, audits, permits, and follow-up actions.
• Support other environmental programs, including recordkeeping and waste handling.
• Maintain high safety, environmental compliance, documentation accuracy, and operational discipline.
• Support continuous improvement to strengthen wastewater treatment performance.
