Job summary

Bay County Board of County Commissioners seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to service the county’s wastewater system, including lift stations and pipelines. You will perform routine and advanced maintenance, monitor equipment, and ensure accurate record-keeping for regulatory compliance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience, with the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift heavy objects when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; mechanical/electrical maintenance courses.
• One year of experience with pumps, motors and related equipment in industrial/construction settings.
• Comparable training/experience may substitute minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains wastewater system components including lift stations, lines and related facilities.
• Maintains obligations to contract operation of client’s wastewater system.
• Monitors operation of motors, pumps, floats, electrical and lift station equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs per manufacturer specs.
• Keeps clear records of work performed.
• Checks electrical equipment for defects and repairs as needed.
• Adheres to safety precautions and procedures for all tasks.
