Job summary

Bay County Board of County Commissioners seeks a Maintenance Technician for essential duties at our water and wastewater facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment, keeping detailed service records and coordinating with the Maintenance Foreman.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, basic repair skills, a valid FL driver license, and the ability to learn plant operations, safety procedures, and use a variety of tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in repair and maintenance of equipment in industrial plants, water or wastewater facilities.
• Valid Florida driver license; ability to obtain Class A CDL within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, and other on-site equipment.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of maintenance and repairs; reports to Foreman.
• Assists in fabrication or installation of minor equipment and piping modifications.
• Learns to operate backhoes, loaders, tractors, and other equipment; follows safety procedures.
