Job summary

The City of Chino is hiring a full-time Wastewater and Storm Operations Supervisor to lead wastewater collection and stormwater maintenance programs. You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee field operations, and manage budgets while directing a team in a dynamic public works environment.

Qualified candidates will have 4+ years in wastewater maintenance with at least 3 years in supervision, a valid CA driver’s license, CWEA Grade II, and the ability to obtain Grade III within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma plus specialized training in wastewater/stormwater.
• Experience: 4 years in wastewater collection system maintenance; at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class C California Driver’s License; CWEA Collection System Maintenance Grade II; ability to obtain Grade III within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and review wastewater collection and stormwater maintenance, inspection, repair, and operations.
• Oversee regulatory compliance including CIWQS/SSO reporting, NPDES/MS4 requirements, recordkeeping, and SSMP implementation.
• Coordinate field operations, emergency response, equipment, materials, staffing, training, safety, and performance management.
• Investigate system issues and customer concerns; coordinate corrective actions and prepare reports.
• Review utility plans and coordinate projects with Public Works divisions, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Prepare and administer the operating budget and monitor expenditure.
• Promote effective customer service, interdepartmental collaboration, safety, and regulatory compliance.
