Job summary

City of Norfolk, VA's Utilities Department seeks a Utilities Maintenance Supervisor for the Wastewater Division. You will supervise crews servicing wastewater pump stations, troubleshoot equipment, review work orders, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will also monitor the SCADA system and coordinate with engineers on repairs. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, more than four years in utility maintenance or repair, and a valid Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or valid equivalent
• More than four years of utility maintenance/repair/construction experience
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
• Additional training/certification may be required within six months

Responsibilities

• Supervises the maintenance of wastewater pump stations and resolves issues by inspecting materials and equipment and supervising work
• Monitors the SCADA system and coordinates with engineers on repairs
• Ensures safety compliance and OSHA standards at worksites
• Assists customers with wastewater concerns and responds to emergencies as needed
