Job summary

Apex Companies in Florida is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water, wastewater, or structural engineering projects. The ideal candidate will hold a Florida PE license or be able to obtain one, with at least 5 years of PM experience and strong client relationships.

The role involves engineering design oversight, construction administration, budget and schedule management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Apex offers a competitive package and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing water, wastewater, or structural engineering projects.
• Proven ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage engineering projects from initial scoping through final delivery, ensuring adherence to client requirements, quality standards, and regulations.
• Oversee project design activities, reviewing plans, calculations, and specifications. Coordinate with internal disciplines to ensure integrated solutions and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules. Proactively identify and address risks, changes, and delays to keep projects on track.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and agencies. Provide regular project status updates, address concerns, and facilitate clear communication among all parties.
• Ensure all project deliverables, including design documents, construction observations, and final records, meet quality standards. Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee construction engineering inspection (CEI) activities, coordinate with construction teams, review contractor submittals, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Support junior staff development by providing guidance, reviewing work, and fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment.
