Job summary
East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) seeks an Assistant Engineer to support wastewater process engineering and process optimization at the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will conduct research, field tests, and data analyses, collaborating with operators, technicians, and external partners to evaluate innovative technologies.
The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge in wastewater processes, experimental design, and regulatory awareness, plus a California license or Engineer in
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- Two years of professional civil, electrical, mechanical, control systems, geotechnical, sanitary or structural engineering experience.
- Valid California driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Responsibilities
- Research to develop new or improved wastewater treatment processes.
- Perform field or laboratory tests and measurements.
- Analyze engineering data and perform calculations.
- Troubleshoot process performance issues and optimize operations.
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and EBMD personnel to evaluate options.
- Assist with compliance reporting and regulatory documentation.
- Support projects related to process engineering and unit operations.
