Job summary
East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) seeks an Assistant Engineer for the Wastewater Process Engineering and Asset Management group to help optimize treatment processes and evaluate innovative technologies at the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant. The role involves research, field and laboratory testing, data analysis, and collaborating with operators, vendors, and other agencies.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) and a California Engineer in
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
- California Engineer in Training certificate required.
- Two years of professional civil, electrical, mechanical, control systems, geotechnical, sanitary or structural engineering experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Optimize wastewater treatment processes and evaluate new technologies.
- Conduct field and laboratory tests; perform data analysis and calculations.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operators, vendors, agencies, and contractors.
- Assist with regulatory compliance reporting and project management.
