Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Wastewater Area Practice Leader (APL) for the Central Area (Colorado, Utah and Texas). This pivotal role shapes the wastewater practice strategy, setting priorities for business development, hiring, and research, while leading high-impact engineering work.

You will guide complex analyses, design, and reporting, mentor staff, and collaborate with regional and national leaders to drive growth, technical differentiation, and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field is required.
• Master’s degree in a related engineering field with focus on wastewater preferred.
• PE license in Colorado, Utah and/or Texas; SMS/MMS framework familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex technical analyses and engineering design efforts.
• Prepare, review, and approve advanced technical reports and engineering deliverables.
• Develop environmental protection systems and infrastructure for complex projects.
• Lead development of facility, watershed, or strategic resource management plans.
• Ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and integration of multidisciplinary inputs.
• Provide technical leadership during permitting, regulatory coordination, and vendor engagement.
• Flexibility to take on additional assignments as needs evolve.
