Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, Inc. invites a Wastewater Area Practice Leader (APL) to guide the Central Area (Colorado, Utah and Texas). The role will drive growth, strategic priorities, and staffing in the wastewater practice, with oversight of complex analyses, design, and client delivery across multiple states.

A remote-work option exists, but the candidate must be based in CO, UT, or TX. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in environmental engineering, proven project leadership, and future SMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of related environmental engineering experience; SMS framework progression.
• PE license in CO/UT/TX (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical analyses and engineering design efforts.
• Prepare and approve advanced technical reports and deliverables.
• Develop environmental protection systems and infrastructure for complex projects.
• Lead development of facility, watershed, or resource management plans.
• Ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and multidisciplinary integration.
• Provide technical leadership during permitting and vendor engagement.
• Mentor and develop junior staff across projects.
• Adapt to evolving needs with flexible assignments.
