Job summary

The Plant Operator role at the Village of Los Lunas Public Works - Wastewater Division supports daily plant operations and equipment maintenance for wastewater treatment. You will work under experienced operators to ensure proper functioning and safety adherence.

This full-time position emphasizes learning, teamwork, and reliable duty coverage in an outdoor treatment environment, with training provided and on-call status as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of wastewater operations experience.
• NM Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Tanker endorsement.
• NM Environment Department Utility Operators Certification Wastewater Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant.
• Gain knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
• Support more experienced operators in equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Learn and apply safety protocols and plant procedures.
• Collaborate with the plant team to ensure efficient plant operations.
• Complete routine tasks as assigned by supervisors.
