Job summary

City of Las Cruces seeks a wastewater shift supervisor to plan, organize and supervise daily plant operations. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee staff, safety, and process improvements.

The role includes budgeting input and coordination with engineers and contractors. Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Water Technology and two years of activated sludge experience, plus a NM Level IV Wastewater Certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Water Technology or related field plus two years of wastewater experience.
• Activated sludge facility experience treating at least 5 MGD; some supervisory or lead worker experience.
• Valid NM Level IV Wastewater Certification required; driving record in policy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates daily operations and staff to meet goals while ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
• Trains, coaches and evaluates staff; schedules work activities and ensures safety.
• Works with Plant Manager on budgets, reviews drawings, orders parts and maintains records.
• Inspects plant processes, controls, records, and ensures odor and safety programs operate properly.
• Responds to public inquiries and ensures proper plant operation and reporting.
