Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to manage the wastewater facility’s systems and equipment for purified discharge. Responsibilities include operating pumps and valves, sampling and analyzing lab data, and coordinating with management on treatment methods.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to work 12-hour night shifts, and a team-focused, safety-conscious approach. Training and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Wastewater licensing or certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work in outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to work both day and night shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of the Wastewater facility during scheduled shifts (primarily 12-hour night shifts).
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves to regulate water flow; collect and test wastewater samples.
• Analyze lab data and adjust processes to prevent non-compliance; maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with other operators, facility staff, and Veolia management for maintenance and treatment decisions.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and assist with minor projects.
• Compile data for daily/weekly/monthly reports; may report to EPA or state bodies.
• Coordinate with purchasing to order supplies and with Facility for third-party maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
