Job summary

OJRSA in Seneca, SC is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and monitor sewage treatment and biosolids processes. The role requires adjusting flow, reading meters, and maintaining logs while performing lab tests and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The position includes on-call duties, night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed, with opportunities to participate in ongoing training and site meetings.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a closely related field or a high school diploma/GED.
• Experience with biological wastewater treatment is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain SC Driver's License and a Biological Wastewater Operator Level D license.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewage treatment, biosolids processing, and disposal equipment under supervision.
• Monitor control panels, regulate flow, and adjust valves/gates.
• Record meter readings and maintain operation logs.
• Conduct laboratory tests for TRC, TSS, BOD, pH, ammonia, nitrogen, and phosphorus.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate with maintenance staff.
